Question 1; Capitalization

When cultural studies theorists use words with capital letters even if they are not proper nouns, they do so because they are referring to the symbolic. It is significant because it suggests that the concept is inaccessible. For example, reference to an actual woman (“you are a woman”) requires a lower case “w” while the concept of the Woman requires capitalization.
